This PhD tackles biodiversity loss by improving wildlife population monitoring. Focusing on western chimpanzees in Guinea-Bissau, it combines AI, bioacoustics, camera traps and Bayesian statistics to integrate diverse data sources.

This research examines how remote sensing and machine learning can improve biodiversity monitoring for UK Biodiversity Net Gain. By replacing slow field surveys with scalable approaches, it develops practical workflows that bridge ecology, remote sensing and AI for consultancy and conservation.

This research examines unequal understandings of heatwaves by combining AI-driven NLP analysis of global media with ethnographic research in Nepal. It foregrounds indigenous practices and local realities to challenge dominant climate narratives and reorient AI toward more inclusive, justice-focused knowledge.

This PhD explores how AI can balance rapid UK solar expansion with biodiversity protection and social acceptance. Using acoustic monitoring, computer vision and language models, it studies wildlife responses and community values to support wildlife-friendly, socially legitimate utility-scale solar energy.
