Clare Maudling
Biography
Clare is the impact fellow for the CDT, working to identify funding streams for future projects and developing project ideas. She also helps plan and organise CDT events and outreach, and works to develop relationships with stakeholders.
Clare is an inter- and multi-disciplinary researcher, working across the fields of social and economic history, politics, public administration, and urban development and planning. She completed her PhD on the post-war reconstruction and planning of UK blitzed cities in 2019 and has since worked in the fields of political studies and public administration, researching government structures, tax, and citizen-state interactions. Clare also has over 20 years experience in the field of libraries and archives, specialising in Devon local studies, and spent several years working in heritage with Exeter Historic Buildings Trust at Exeter’s oldest building, St Nicholas Priory. Unsurprisingly, she enjoys reading and poking around historic buildings in her spare time, along with going to gigs and swimming.
