My PhD at the University of Exeter as part of the Environmental Intelligence CDT, where my work combines computational methods, qualitative interviews, and science and technology studies (STS) to study public discourse, institutional responsibility, and ethical tensions surrounding AI and decarbonisation technologies.

Alongside this, I have worked with the Alan Turing Institute on interpretive and hermeneutical approaches to AI, exploring how AI systems might better reflect societal values, contested knowledge, and plural climate narratives. This work sits within a broader commitment to “doing AI differently” by embedding humanistic and social insight into AI research and governance.

I also lecture in Responsible Innovation and Ethics and convene interdisciplinary workshops bringing together researchers, policymakers, technologists, and civil society to address the environmental and social impacts of AI. I’m motivated by the belief that emerging technologies are not value-neutral, and that participatory, interpretive approaches are essential if technology is to genuinely serve society and the environment.’
