Horizon Academics 2026 is a one-day online event designed as a space for PhD researchers to step back from day-to-day research pressures and reflect on the future of academia together. The day will bring researchers from different disciplines into conversation through short talks and facilitated breakout discussions, exploring how academic systems currently operate, where change is already emerging, and what universities might become in the future. Participants will contribute to collective discussions that will feed into a report and help form a new network of PhD researchers interested in improving academic culture and research practice.
